LTC Jennifer L. Gonser

Lt. Col. Jen Gonser grew up all around America and received her commission from West Point in 2006 as an Engineer Officer. 

Lt. Col. Gonser most recently served as an observer trainer for the Joint Staff, J7.  She previously commanded the 697th Horizontal Construction Company with the 62nd Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade and as a vertical platoon leader in the 15th Engineer Battalion.  She held pervious staff positions with United Nations Command and United States Forces-Korea at Camp Humphreys, the 9th Brigade Engineer Battalion in 3rd Infantry Division, and was a Civil and Mechanical Engineering Instructor at West Point.

Lt. Col. Gonser has two combat deployments to Afghanistan with V Corps and 36th Engineer Brigade as well as an operational deployment to Bulgaria.

Lt. Col. Gonser awards and decorations include a Bronze Star, two Defense Meritorious Service medals, and two Meritorious Service Medals and various other Joint and Army Awards. She has earned the Chief of Staff Identification Badge, German Proficiency Badge (Gold) and Parachutist badge.

Lt. Col. Gonser holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Point, and Masters from Cambridge University, UK and the University of Illinois. She is a 2006 Gates Scholar and holds a Project Management Professional Certification and a Professional Engineering License out of Missouri. 

Jen is an (at least) third generation military service member.
