CSM Martin Arguello

Command Sergeant Major Martin Arguello grew up Western Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Army in June 2000 as an infantryman and attended one station unit training at Fort Benning, GA. 

His assignments and positions include Reconnaissance Assistant Team Leader and Team Leader at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii in 2nd Battalion 5th Infantry Regiment Reconnaissance Platoon; Rifle Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader and Recon Team Leader at Fort Lewis, Washington in 4th Battalion 9th Infantry Regiment “MANCHUS”; Weapons Squad Leader, Air NCO and Platoon Sergeant at Fort Lewis, Washington in 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment; Operational Security and Evaluations Group at Fort Belvoir, VA; First Sergeant of Battlehard Company 3rd Battalion 187th Infantry Regiment 3BCT Rakkasans and HHC Brigade First Sergeant Rakkasans 187th IN Regt; Operations Sergeant Major, 1-91 CAV, 173rd Airborne Brigade. CSM Arguello has seven deployments accumulating over 50 months in conflict in support of the Global Operations.

His military schools and education include the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Senior Leaders Course, the Sergeants Major Academy, Ranger School, Air Assault School and Jumpmaster School. He has earned his Bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Workforce Development from Excelsior College and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Homeland Security.

His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service Medal (2 oak leaf cluster); Joint Service Commendation Medal; Army Commendation Medal (8th oak leaf cluster); Army Achievement Medal (2 oak leaf cluster); Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award); National Defense Service Medal; Afghan Campaign Medal (4 campaign stars); Iraqi Campaign Medal (1 campaign star); Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terror Service Medal; Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 5); Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 3); NATO Medal (Afghanistan); Humanitarian Service Medal; Aubrey Red Newman Award; Order of Saint George Award; Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Air Assault Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge; Senior Parachutist Badge.

CSM Arguello is married with three children.
