CSM Alphanso Coleman is a native of Florida. He enlisted in the United States Army as an Automated Logistical Specialist and graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia.
CSM Coleman’s stateside tours include Fort Bliss, Texas; Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Fort Riley, Kansas; and Fort Johnson, Louisiana. He served overseas tours in Republic of Korea and Germany. He has also deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), Operation New Dawn, Operation Iraq Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF).
After completing initial assignments in Fort Sill and Camp Carroll, CSM Coleman served as a Warehouse NCO/NCOIC for 94th BSB and 2ACR in Fort Johnson. He returned to Fort Sill as an Instructor/Writer for 1-22 FA BN before deploying to Baghdad in support of OIF 08-09. Upon return, he completed his time in Fort Sill as a Platoon Sergeant and First Sergeant in 100th BSB and 95th AG BN. He served as an Operations SGM and First Sergeant under 1AD and OPS NCOIC for Garrison in Fort Bliss. He served in overseas assignments ‘17-21 as the G4 S&S SGM for 2ID in Camp Red Cloud and G3 Operations for 21TSC in Kaiserslautern. He PCS to Shaw AFB to serve as the USARCENT Sustainment SGM and Senior Enlisted Advisor (SEA) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia TRADOC Commander. CSM Coleman most recently served as the USAREUR-AF G4 Sergeant Major.
CSM Coleman holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Management-Human Resources from Excelsior University. He is a graduate of all levels of the NCOES culminating with the Sergeant Major Course. His professional military education also includes Sustainment, Brigade, and Battalion Pre-Command Courses, Senior ENL Joint PME Courses (I and II), Master Resilience Course, Contracting Officer Representative Course, Demonstrated Senior Logistician Course, Military Transition Team Courses, Small Group/Total Army Instructor Trainer’s Courses, Combative Trainer’s Course, and Air Assault Course.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Army Commendation Medal (6 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Ribbon, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Metal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (5th Numeral), Instructor Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge. He is also a recipient of the Order of Saint Martin Award.
CSM Coleman has one daughter Imani (25) who is currently pursuing her career with Microsoft as a Cyber Engineer.
