LTC Jason E. Turner

Field Artillery Squadron

Commander

Commissioned into the Field Artillery in 2004, LTC Turner has served in a wide variety of positions through the United States and Europe. 

LTC Turner previous served in the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, at Hohenfels Germany, as the Chief of Rotational Plans, the Deputy Senior Fires OC/T, and the Brigade Fires OC/T.  He also served in the Joint Special Operations Command, at Fort Bragg NC, and forward deployed as a Joint Planner.  

LTC Turner completed his Key Developmental Positions as a Major, while serving in the 2nd Infantry Division, Division Artillery. He served as the 2ID DIVARTY DCO and S3, the S3 for the 2nd Battalion 17th Field Artillery, as well as the Brigade FSO for 2nd Battalion, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. 

He served within the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Carson, Colorado, and forward deployed, as a Battalion Fire Support Officer and Special Operations Terminal Attack Controller. He commanded Bravo Battery, within the 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery, at Fort Drum, NY. He also served as the 2-15th FA Battalion Fire Direction Officer, and as the Battalion Fire Support officer for the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment. 

LTC Turner served in the 82nd Airborne Division, at Fort Bragg NC, as a Squadron Fire Support Officer within the 1st Squadron, 73rd Airborne RECON Regiment, as a Battery Executive Officer for Bravo Battery, 2-319th AFAR, as a Platoon Leader in the same Battery, and as a Company Fire Support Officer within the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment. 

He deployed in support of multiple named operations from: 2018-2019, 2012-2013, 2008-2009, 2007-2008, 2005, 2004-2005. 

LTC Turner is a graduate of the Irish Senior Command and Staff College, Field Artillery Captain’s Career Course, and Field Artillery Officer Basic Course.  

His awards include the Combat Action Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge 

LTC Turner is married with two children.
