LTC Peter M. Erickson

3rd Squadron

Commander

LTC "Pete" Erickson commissioned as an infantry officer after graduating from the US Military Academy in 2004. His first duty assignment was as a Platoon Leader with 2nd BN, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. He then served as a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer with 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.  

Upon completion of the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course in 2010, LTC Erickson then served with the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO. After serving as an assistant operations officer for 1st Brigade, LTC Erickson then commanded A Company, 1-66 AR, and then served as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of 4th ID. As a Major, LTC Erickson served with the 3d Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, TX, serving initially as the Regiment’s plans officer. He then served as the operations officer for 1st Squadron and then for the Regiment.  

He is a General Wayne A. Downing Scholar, earning a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University. Most recently, LTC Erickson served as a General Andrew J. Goodpaster Senior Fellow, earning a PhD in political science from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.   

LTC Erickson’s operational experience includes multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.

LTC Erickson is married with five children.
