CSM Erik Metcalf

Command Sergeant Major Erik Metcalf was born and raised in Indiana. He enlisted as a Combat Engineer in 2001.

Upon completion of OSUT, CSM Metcalf was assigned to Charlie "Rock", 40th EN BN as an AVLB operator in Baumholder, Germany. He served as a Team Leader in C Co. 5th EN BN at Fort Leonard Wood, then as a Squad Leader for A Co. BSTB, 2nd ABCT, 1 ID  at Fort Riley and 3rd BDE 1 AD at Fort Bliss. CSM Metcalf served as a paratrooper at Fort Liberty and with 173d IBCT(A) at Caserma Ederle before serving as a Platoon Sergeant in A Co. BSTB, 4th IBCT at Fort Riley. He served as an OC/T for First Army before moving to Schofield Barracks to take responsibility as B Co. First Sergeant in 65th BEB, 25th ID. CSM Metcalf then served as the Senior Military Science Instructor at Marquette University until his selection to attend the Sergeants Major Course. Prior to this appointment, CSM Metcalf served at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany. CSM Metcalf has four combat deployments in support of OIF, OEF, and OEF-HOA. He has a Master's of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University as well as undergraduate degrees from WKU and UMUC.
