Command Sergeant Major Jesus E. Pedraza is from California and joined the Army in July 1998. He completed One Station Unit Training as a Combat Engineer at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. 

His assignments include the 27th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 65th Engineer Battalion, 3/25 Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawai’i; 14th Engineer Battalion, Fort Lewis, Washington; Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Irwin, California; 130th Engineer Brigade, Schofield Barracks, Hawai’i; Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3/25 Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawai’i; 2d Engineer Battalion, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico; 3BCT, 1st Armored Division and Joint Task Force North, Fort Bliss, Texas; and United States Army Europe, Wiesbaden, Germany.

CSM Pedraza has held positions as Combat Engineer, Team Leader, Section Sergeant, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Operations Sergeant at the Company, Squadron, and Brigade level. First Sergeant at the Joint Task Force, Headquarters and Headquarters Company (Brigade), Engineer Clearance Company, and Light Engineer Company levels. He has served as Chief Engineer at the Brigade and Army Service Component Command level and as interim Command Sergeant Major for 2d Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade.

His deployments include one peacekeeping operation to Kosovo in support of Noble Eagle K4B, one combat deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and to Iraq twice in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

CSM Pedraza’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (6th award), National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal (1 campaign star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 campaign star), the Iraq Campaign Medal (4 campaign stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (#5), Overseas Service Ribbon (#6), NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drivers Badge (wheeled), Canadian Parachutist Badge, Philippine Civic Action Medal (Honorary), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and Meritorious Unit Citation (1 OLC). CSM Pedraza is a recipient of the bronze order of the de Fleury Medal.

CSM Pedraza has an Associate’s degree in General Studies for University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Natural Science and Mathematics from Thomas Edison State University. He also completed a Master's of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics from University of Texas at El Paso in the fall of 2019.

CSM Pedraza is a graduate of Class 67. He has completed the Engineer Pre-Command Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Company Commander & First Sergeant Course, Rappel Master Course, Air Assault Course, Basic Airborne Course, TC-AIMS II Functional User Course, Explosives Ordnance Clearance Agent Course, Unit Movement Officer Deployment Planning Course, Master Driver Trainer Course, Nuclear Biological Chemical Officer Course, Unit Armorer Course, and the Combat Life Savers Course. 

CSM Pedraza is married with three children.
