Command Sergeant Major Patrick J. DeBord is a native of Nebraska enlisted in the Army in 2003 as a 12B Combat Engineer. He attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
CSM DeBord has served in every operational leadership position from team leader to first sergeant, and two years as Drill Sergeant in the institutional domain. Additionally, SGM DeBord performed duties at HRC as the Engineer Branch 12Z career manager prior to attending Sergeants Major Course.
His stateside assignments include Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Hood, Texas back to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Fort Bliss, Texas and again most recently Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He has deployed to both Iraq (3) and Afghanistan (1).
CSM DeBord’s military education includes Combat Engineer OSUT, the Primary Leadership Development Course, United States Army Drill Sergeants Academy, The Advanced Leader Course, Sapper Leader Course, the Senior Leader Course, the Army Sexual Harassment and Response Program Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leader course, the Master Resiliency Trainer Course, United States Army Jumpmaster School, Battle Staff Noncommissioned Officers Course, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. His civilian education includes a high school diploma from the Bryan Community alternative school, an Associate’s degree from American Military University, and a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Leadership and Workforce Development from the Command and General Staff College.
CSM DeBord’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4rd award), the Army Commendation medal (5th award) the Army Achievement award (2nd award), the Combat Action badge, the Senior Parachutist badge, the Drill Sergeant identification badge, the Sapper tab, Colombian jump wings, and track vehicle Driver’s Badge.
CSM DeBord currently resides in Tower Barracks with his wife and three children.
