Colonel Timothy A. Price

2d Cavalry Regiment Commander

 

COL Price was commissioned as an Army Infantry Officer in 2004 upon graduating from the Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy Management from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.

His initial operational assignments include service as a Stryker Rifle Platoon Leader in B Company, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Lewis, Washington. While deployed to Mosul, Baghdad, and Baqubah, Iraq, he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Attack Company Executive Officer, and Attack Company Commander. Following command of E Company, 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Zhari Province, Afghanistan. There he served as the Assistant S3, Commander of D Company and HHC, and Battalion Operations Officer (S3).

As a field grade officer, COL Price served as the Squadron Operations Officer and Regimental Operations Officer (RS3) for the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. He then transitioned to Joint Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving as a Current Operations Planner and Chief of Current Operations (J33), both CONUS and during multiple deployments in the Middle East. He subsequently assumed command of the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, followed by an assignment as the Brigade Command and Control Task Force Senior OCT at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Johnson, Louisiana. He is currently the 84th Colonel of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany.

His key staff assignments include the Joint Chiefs of Staff Internship Program, serving in the Joint Staff Pakistan-Afghanistan Coordination Cell (PACC), and as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army at the Pentagon. He also served as the G35 at the 7th Infantry Division.

COL Price’s military education includes the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College, and the U.S. Army War College. His decorations include the Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with "V" Device, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. He has earned the Master Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Ranger Tab, Joint Staff Identification Badge, and Army Staff Identification Badge.

COL Price is married to Lisette Price of Wise, Virginia. They have three children: Jackson (14), Henry (12), and Natalie (7).
