LTC William C. Murray

LTC William "Bill" Murray is a native of California. He began his military service at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) and later graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point (Class of 2005), taking his commission in the Engineer Regiment.

He has served in numerous command and staff positions including: Combat Engineer Platoon Leader, Clearance Company Commander, Division Planner, Executive Officer to the 2ID CG, Battalion Operations Officer, Brigade Operations Officer, and Deputy Brigade Commander.

LTC Murray has deployed in support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, he served in 2-7 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division from 2006-2009, 1st Armored Division from 2010-2011, 54th Engineer Battalion from 2011-2014 (supported the 6th Airborne Brigade-Polish Armed Forces in Afghanistan and earned the 2012 Itschner Award for most outstanding active engineer company in the U.S. Army), 2nd Infantry Division from 2017-2019, and 130th Engineer Brigade from 2019-2021. Most recently, he completed a fellowship at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu, Hawaii.

LTC Murray holds a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy, a Master of Science in Geological Engineering from Missouri Science and Technology, and a Master of Arts in Operational Art and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies, Command and General Staff College.

LTC Murray is married with two children.
